Cleaned up the excess wire in the fuselage. Trimmed about 3' and soldered the joints on all the wires going to the engine. Fixed the light connection to the compass and mounted the bracket that holds the fuel primer to the fuselage. Just a little odds and ends work today.

Removed the exhaust manifold, used ATV 'Red' on the gasket, remounted the manifold. Used Anti-seize on the exhaust manifold-pipe ball and safety-wired the springs holding the pipe to the manifold. Filled the springs with ATV 'Red'. Removed the compass from its present position (it was too close to the metal brace holding the panel in place), and will move it to what was the EGT position. Moved the EGT to the compass position and rewired the connections. Of course, the hole that the EGT was in is now too small for the compass, so I'll have to enlarge the hole another day. Got dark and I went home.

| The compass was too close to the metal brace. Should be showing due North, so I am moving it to the center of the panel. Going to have to enlarge the hole another 1/8 of an inch. Nothing is ever simple, is it? | ||
Finally fixed the throttle linkage. Jim Amodeo advised me that the cable was too long, and sure enough, when I shortened it, it worked fine. Also moved the compass in the panel to two or three places and none of them would let it work right. Must be the metal brace that holds the panel in place that is affecting it. Not sure how to isolate the compass from the metal, so I guess I'll have to mount it off the panel. Now what am I going to do with the extra hole? Hmmmmm. What's the best 'extra' gauge one can put in a panel? Any suggestions??
